5364 Final Paper
What are you thinking about for your 20-page paper/project thus far?
In regard to my paper, I have not solidified a topic as of yet. However, in keeping with my larger research interest of podcasting (sorry already to those who are getting tired of this topic), I am currently thinking about either looking at:
• The 5th century “isegoria” right of citizens to have their voice compared to the egalitarian nature of podcasting, blogging, websites; or
• A more applicable paper, discussing the podcast process according to the five canons of rhetoric. This one would be more applicable in that I would layout a sort of heuristic of creating a podcast or blog (probably just the former) based on the theory.
Again, I have not particularly decided what the topic will be. I am not set on either of the two mentioned above, but they are both under consideration.

I think the "democratizing" or "flattening" of voice is an interesting topic. You might read Thomas Friedman if you haven't already. It was the topic of one of the townhalls at C&W.

How's your paper topic coming along now?
Admittedly, have not thought too much about the paper topic, as my Phaedrus presentation is next Monday. So, I have been reading the Phaedrus and considering what I will include in the presentation.
However, along the lines of the podcasting topic and the five canons, I was considering making the focus on just one of the canons. There is certainly something to be said for just discusing the Delivery aspect of podcasts. However, any of the other four canons are equally interesting and discussable, as well.
If I decide to stick with that topic, at this point I think I will cover all five canons. However, that idea is not concrete. It is even conceivable that I might write on some aspect of classical Rhetoric of which I am currently unaware (and will read soon).
I did check out Thomas Friedman and the article on the iSongBook article (very cool item). I will keeep researching and reading (though more so after constructing my Phaedrus presentation) and begin to form a solid topic.
